Record the two asset identities and the conversion statement
Start with the old asset identifier, new asset identifier, network and the source of the stated ratio. Similar ticker labels are insufficient to identify assets. Keep contract addresses where the relevant token model uses them, and preserve the exact direction of the conversion statement.
The ERC-20 standard documents token quantities and an optional decimal-display field. That display field is not itself a promise to exchange old units for new ones. A migration notice or account credit needs its own evidence; a protocol schema cannot supply missing event terms.
Write the ratio as an equation with units
In a fictional event, the stated conversion is 100 OLD units for 1 NEW unit. An entered holding of 1000 OLD therefore corresponds to 10 NEW under that ratio. Writing 1000 multiplied by 100 would reverse the relationship and create a false quantity increase.
| Teaching input | Unit equation | Conditional result |
|---|---|---|
| 1000 OLD | 100 OLD = 1 NEW | 10 NEW |
| Old price 2 quote/OLD | New teaching price 200 quote/NEW | Same invented gross value 2000 |
| Actual credited balance | Not supplied | Unverified |
A changed unit can explain a changed price label
Under the same invented model, an old price of 2 quote units per OLD and a new price of 200 per NEW produce the same gross value for those two quantities. This is a consistency illustration. It does not predict a market price, establish liquidity or prove that a token retained value.
Keep fees, excluded holdings, eligibility rules and rounding outside the example unless you have the relevant source terms. If the notice uses a different rounding convention, the simple equation is insufficient to reconstruct an actual credit. Preserve that unresolved convention.
Separate the event instant, display date and your capture
A Singapore-local display should retain the full date and offset of the supplied event instant. Keep the notice’s effective time separately from when you saved it and when a balance change appeared. These events need not coincide.
If you possess only a before balance and a later after balance, record the interval without inventing an exact credit time. A different balance can also reflect other movements. Reconcile those separately before attributing the entire change to the stated conversion.
Close the record with supported quantities and open questions
A useful output contains the ratio, its direction, the original quantity, conditional converted quantity and any supplied credit evidence. Keep the old raw quantity so another reviewer can reproduce the calculation rather than trusting a renamed column.
This guide does not send assets, verify a claim portal or decide whether a migration is legitimate. It does not establish country eligibility or recommend taking part in an event. Missing contract, ratio or credit evidence remains explicitly unresolved.
The optional link below leads to this site's separate crypto signals and Telegram updates offer. The record method is usable without that offer. It does not independently verify the offer, establish country eligibility or turn the teaching example into an actual transaction.
